Vocation Story: My name is Michael Gane, and I'm happy to report I'm going back for my second year at St. Meinrad. I grew up in Mobile, went to St. Dominic, graduated from McGill Toolen, got a degree in Communication from the University of South Alabama and was elbow deep in a sales career before pulling the switch. Going to seminary has been an incredible experience. I've been a long time resident of the downtown Mobile area and eventually started altar serving on Sundays at the Cathedral Basilica. I just kept getting closer to the faith, to the Mass, to my Pastor and to the people. I had this realization one day that God is the reason for my life and who am I to give anything less than all of myself to Him and discerning His will for me. It's amazing how stepping out of my comfort zone and moving into the unknown has brought about such amazing self discovery. I feel like I am finally walking in a faith that I drove by for years.
