My husband and I were traveling through the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York when we began reading Pope Leo XIV's new encyclical addressing artificial intelligence. "Read this part," my husband told me, after spotting a quote he knew I'd like.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ National Eucharistic Renewal initiative tells us that “through the Eucharist, God desires to heal, renew and unify the Church and the world.” As the Church grows in our loving devotion to the Eucharistic Lord, Jesus calls us also to grow in our loving devotion to the Mystical Body of Christ (the Church) and the world. He calls the Church to nurture such devotion in opportunities to experience healing, renewal and oneness with Him, the Church, and the human family.
VATICAN CITY — With bishops leading the way, every Christian should help build unity in the Church and the world by putting Christ at the center and drawing others near while being attentive to their needs, Pope Leo XIV said.
A few months ago, I sat across from a young man who seemed to have everything going for him. He had a good job, plenty of social connections and a busy calendar. Yet after a few minutes of conversation, he looked at me and said something that has stayed with me ever since: "Nobody really knows me."
