May Easter bring us into deeper intimacy with our God

I taught for many years, mostly in Catholic high schools.
There was one student I came to notice over time. He always seemed to be around when trouble was brewing. At first, that didn’t seem like a good thing. But with closer attention, I realized something else was going on. He was often the one stepping in—with parental permission—to help a classmate who had gotten into trouble.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a friend like that? Someone willing to step in and help when you need it most?
As we approach Easter, we are reminded that we do have such a friend. Christ is always at work in our lives, helping us in ways we often do not even notice. He steps in again and again, offering mercy, forgiveness and grace.
Too often, we take that gift for granted. We can become so aware of our faults that we hesitate to turn to Him. Yet Christ never turns away from us.
We were made to live in communion with God. There is no need to be afraid to approach Him. He is the Divine Physician, ready to heal what is broken and restore us through His mercy.
As we celebrate Easter and the victory of Christ over sin and death, may we draw closer to Him with confidence, trusting in His love and forgiveness.
May this Easter bring us into deeper intimacy with our God.
